The daughter of Keith and Fay (Allen) McConeghey, Vickie was born on January 30, 1935 in Jasper County, Iowa. She graduated from Monroe High School in 1953. Following high school, she moved to the Des Moines area. Vickie worked as a correspondence clerk of premium accounting at American Mutual Life for 20 years. She retired in 1995. Vickie loved people and enjoyed square dancing, crafts, reading, and music.
Those left to honor her memory include her children, Jerold Herwehe of Apex, North Carolina, Julia Petterson of Inner Grove Heights, Minnesota, and Michelle (Jeff) Wheeler of Dunkerton, Iowa; eight grandchildren; a sister, Eileen Pille of Des Moines and her twin brother, Miles "Mick" McConeghey of Monroe; and numerous nieces and nephews. Preceding her in death were her parents, and a sister, Charlotte McConeghey.
Vickie was a good friend in the 1970's. I lost track of her after she moved from Ankeny. I found out in 2005-6 she was in the CF Lutheran Home and would have visited her if I'd known. I'm originally from Cedar Falls. Vickie had the sweetest smile and was the nicest of friends. We had such a good time together.
I send my condolences to you, her three children.

I had the honor of working with Vicki for 2 years while working at the Cedar Falls Lutheran Home. She was one of my favorite ladies, hands down. She loved getting her nails painted. She always seemed to have a smile on her face. Even though I haven't seen her in a couple years...she will be missed!

My thoughts and prayers to the family. Jerry, when my father passed away almost 2 years ago, I learned a valuable lesson. To Trust my Journey. May you learn something about yourself and trust the journey you are on and what you need to learn.
