Obituary
James H. Clement, age 81 of Colfax, died Saturday, July 21, 2012 at Skiff Medical Center in Newton. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, July 25, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. the Evangelical Free Church in Baxter. A luncheon will be served following the service at the church. Burial will follow at the Colfax Cemetery at 1:30 p.m. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 24, 2012, from 2:00 - 8:00 p.m. at Coburn Funeral Home. The family will greet friends from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. Memorials may be directed to the Evangelical Free Church in Baxter or the Cowboy Church. Condolences may be left for the family at www.coburnfuneralhomes.com.

The son of Herbert and Maude May (Bailey) Clement, James was born on April 13, 1931, in Maxwell. Growing up, Jim lived in Maxwell, Farrar and Rhodes before settling in Colfax. Following high school, he entered the United States Army and served as an engineer in the Korean War. After his time in the military, he went to work at Maytag in Newton and retired after 30 years. On May 14, 1995, he was united in marriage to Janet Warner at the Evangelical Free Church in Baxter, which they attended. Jim enjoyed hunting, fishing, and shooting trap.

Those left to honor his memory include his wife, Janet of Colfax; his children, Denice Ward of Colfax, Walter Clement of Minnesota, and Sheila McCall of Urbandale; ten grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; step children; Brian Rumbaugh of Mingo and Lauri Rouse of Altoona; four step grandchildren, and two step great grandchildren. Preceding him in death were his parents, a brother and a sister.

We were saddened by the news of James passing. We extend our condolences to Janet and her family. James was my mother's youngest brother, and she always spoke fondly of him.
