Traditional ServicesOur traditional service includes the use of all of our facilities and staff. Services vary depending on a family’s wishes, but often include a visitation on the evening prior to the funeral service. Funeral services typically follow the next day. Please understand, however, that because we strive to constantly provide dignified, meaningful, and personalized service to those we serve, every funeral can be personalized in countless ways. Any part of a funeral can be changed to fit the needs and desires of all those involved. We also provide dignified, meaningful graveside services. If you ever have any questions concerning any of our services, please do not hesitate to call. We are here to serve you. |

CremationWhat is Cremation? Cremation is a process of preparing human remains for final disposition. It is a technical heating process, which reduces the remains to their basic elements, primarily bone particles and fragments, which are referred to as “cremated remains”. This reduction takes place through heat and evaporation in a cremation chamber. The basic elements remaining after cremation, depending on the size of the deceased, usually weigh, on average, 5 lbs. and are further reduced in size for placement in either a permanent urn or a temporary container, suitable for transport. Variety of Options/Services Cremation creates new options…and as with any funeral, arrangements can be as individual as the people involved. |

MerchandiseAt Coburn Funeral Homes, we pride ourselves in helping families to create a unique and personalized funeral or memorial service for their loved ones. We offer a wide variety of both traditional and cremation merchandise to help assist our families in achieving this goal. |
CasketsCaskets are one of the most visible components of a funeral service. Therefore, it is an area in which personalization has and continues to grow. Some examples include using our Lifesymbol corner pieces or a custom-made cap panel placed in the lid of the casket. Many of our wood caskets offer Memorysafes for loved ones to leave items in the casket. We offer both wood and metal caskets in an affordable price range for all families. |

VaultsWe provide quality protective burial vaults and grave liners. A grave liner is the minimum requirement for most cemeteries in the state of Iowa. They are used simply to maintain the integrity of the grave and provide minimal protection for the casket. Burial vaults also maintain the integrity of the grave while providing the protection and peace of mind most families desire. We offer several different types of vaults in a wide range of prices to select from. |

UrnsUrns are purchased in conjunction with cremation services. They may not be required but are often purchased as a unit to hold the cremated remains. We offer a wide variety of quality urns and memento urns to choose from in various materials and affordable price ranges for all families. |

KeepsakesCombining the wonders of modern scanning technology with the ancient technique of lost wax casting, the finger, hand and footprints of your loved ones are fashioned into artistic and intricately detailed jewelry. Each piece is as unique as the print it replicates. Each of these pieces is unique and a one-of-a-kind item that will be cherished for many years to come. Please contact us for more information.
Infants and children under the age of three pose a problem when it comes to capturing a reproducible print. While they have fingerprints, the defining ridges are so fine that is is difficult to get sufficient contrast. The print look like black smudges and the resulting cast resembles sand paper. Recognizing the problem, Meadow Hill's artisans came up with a solution: The solution uses a print of the child's entire hand or foot. This print is miniaturized and centered on our oval charm. A high polish finish is put on the surrounding surface to highlight the imprint. Many families already have footprint or handprint on the hospital record they received when their children were born. If not, please contact Meadow Hill or your local funeral home for instructions on obtaining high quality prints of your child’s hand or foot. |
