Chuck and Shannon Henkenius - Owners
Chuck and his wife Shannon purchased Coburn Funeral Home & Cremation Services upon the retirement of its previous owner, Lowell Coburn, in January 2004. Chuck had been employed with the funeral home three years prior to this purchase. Chuck is a graduate of the University of Northern Iowa , as well as the Cincinnati College of Mortuary Science. Chuck and his wife live in Monroe with their two children, Noah and Katie.

Sean Smith – Funeral Director
Sean, a native of Sanborn, Iowa, graduated from Hartley-Melvin-Sanborn High School in 2002 and the Cincinnati College of Mortuary Science in 2005. He began his internship with Coburn Funeral Home in January of 2006. Having grown up in a funeral home family, Sean knows the commitment necessary to serve families in these communities. Sean and his wife Jaclyn live in Colfax. When not working, Sean enjoys sports and has a strong commitment to his church.
Part-time Staff
Coburn Funeral Home also employs several retired members of the community on a part-time basis. These gentlemen and ladies are happy to assist with funeral services and visitations whenever called upon. Their service is something we greatly appreciate, and we are sure your family will also.
