Almeta M. Hill, age 85 of Colfax, passed away on Wednesday, November 5, 2025 at Parkridge Speciality Care in Pleasant Hill. Funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, November 11, 2025 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Colfax. The family will greet friends following the Mass at a luncheon at the church. Burial will take place at the Colfax Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the church and condolences may be left for the family at www.coburnfuneralhomes.com

The daughter of Earl W. and Lillie E (Garrett) Kintz, Almeta was born on September 15, 1940, in Iowa City, Iowa. On August 30, 1958, she was united in marriage to WIlliam E. Hill in Des Moines. They celebrated 66 years of marriage together until Bill's passing in April of this year. Almeta was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, where she served on many committees. Almeta owned the restaurant on Main Street in Colfax. She was a wonderful cook and loved baking cakes for any special occasion. After the restaurant she worked at the locker, ran the scale at the gravel pit and finally retired from the Vernon Company in Newton. She loved being with her family. Besides family, one of Almeta's favorite things to do was riding motorcycles with Bill.

Those left to honor her memory include her daughters, Tammie (Brent) Hasselbrink and Melissa (Bruce Geiger) Hill; two grandsons, Phillip (Rachel) Morris and Adam Morris; two precious great granddaughters, Maggie and Junie and a sister, Pam Ingraham. Preceding Almeta in death were her parents; husband, brothers-in-law, Jerry Ingraham and Dean Riggan and a sister, Billie Riggan.
