During this time, it gave Arlene the opportunity to do what she knew and loved to do best…cook!! While in Branson, she worked many jobs in the tourist industry. Arlene was a woman of many talents and hobbies. Thru these talents she loved to do God's work. Her passion for cooking was evident by helping those in need, potlucks, church events and many gatherings in their home. A few other strong passions she had was her love for gardening, flowers and decorating. This was displayed in many ways but most importantly how their home was always beautifully and meticulously decorated all year long inside and out. Arlene was a member of First Reformed Church in Prairie City, the church her great, great grandfather founded in the 1800's. She and Gary later transferred their membership to the First Baptist Church in Kimberling City, MO. While a member of First Reformed Church, she frequently played the piano and organ for church services and other occasions. Arlene was active in Bible Study and Life Groups in both churches.
