Barbara (Ayers) Borts, age 87 of Colfax, died Saturday, November 12, 2022, at Altoona Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Altoona. The family will greet friends on Wednesday, November 16, 2022, from 5:00 - 7:00 pm at Coburn Funeral Home in Colfax. A memorial service will begin at 7:00 pm. Burial will take place at McKeever Cemetery at a later date. Memorials may be directed to the Colfax Fire and Rescue Association or to McKeever Cemetery. The daughter of Warren Ayers and Opal (Storm) Cadman, Barbara was born on December 21, 1934, in Valeria, Iowa. She graduated from Mingo High School in 1953. She was united in marriage to LeRoy Borts on September 11, 1953 in Valeria. Barb worked at Maytag for many years retiring in 1992.

Those left to honor her memory include her daughters, Debora (David) Winkels of Altoona, Denise (Raymond) Aikin of Colfax, and Donna (Bob) Wilson of Mingo; her twin sister, Betty Owens; eight grandchildren, many great and great great grandchildren and brothers-in-law, John (Alice) Borts and George (Elaine) Moore. Preceding her in death was her husband of 58 years, LeRoy in 2011; her parents; her step father; a sister, Rena Martin; a brother, Bob Morton; brothers-in-law, Tom Owens, Morris Weikert and Kenneth Martin; sisters-in-law, Bert (Bob) Morton and Doris Mae Weikert and two great grandchildren.
