Obituary

Genevieve Beryl Kinart, Beryl to all who knew her, age 93, passed away on Saturday, November 7, 2026, in Knoxville, Iowa. Beryl's family will greet friends for a visitation on Wednesday, November 11, 2026, from 1:00 - 3:00 PM, at the Monroe United Presbyterian Church. A private graveside service will be held at Silent City Cemetery in Monroe. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made out to Beryl's family, with checks payable to Tina Parks. If you wish to send a card or flowers, please send it to Coburn Funeral Home, 24 W Howard St, Colfax, Iowa 50054.

The daughter of Horace Orly and Sadie Mae (Koons) Simpson, Beryl was born in Rib Lake, Wisconsin on May 5, 1933. She graduated from Monroe High School in 1952, and in 1955 she was united in marriage to Roland Fisher Kinart. Together, they built a home where they shared 54 wonderful years of marriage and memories. Beryl worked her entire career at PAG seeds. She worked as a secretary but filled the shoes of many different roles over her four decades with PAG. She was known for her fast typing and gorgeous cursive writing, even if it was hard to read.

Beryl enjoyed a variety of hobbies and adventures throughout her life. She and Roland shared a love of exploring and making memories together. Some of their favorite activities included VW Club rallies, camping trips, running Buck Creek Muzzleloader Club and numerous railcar excursions. She enjoyed crafting, collecting, gardening, canning, canoeing, fishing and completing puzzles. Beryl cherished her family and treasured every opportunity to spend time with them. Whether gathering for Sunday dinners, celebrating special occasions, or simply stopping by for a visit, those moments together meant the world to her. She especially adored her great grandchildren, who knew her not as Beryl, but affectionately as "White-Haired Grandma." After a visit she was quick to ask when the next visit would be.

Family left to remember her include her daughter, Tina (Frosty) Parks; her grandchildren, Blaine (Jacobe) Parks, Patrick (Jessica) Parks, and Sadie (Owen) Parks; her great grandchildren, Austin, Reid, Kashton, Henslie, Sawyer, Marah, Ethan, Aurora, Max, and Kai; as well as a sister-in-law, Ina Simpson.
