The son of Sara (Karalius) and Richard Magnuson, Cavan, was born on April 13, 2005, in Des Moines. Cavan graduated from Colfax Mingo High School in 2023 and started his career in trucking. He began with dump trucks and moved into big rigs; Cavan grew interested in tinkering with vehicles and machines while spending time with his Grandpa Tim. He loved to take things apart and put them back together, always eager to see if he could find a fix to a problem.

Cavan enjoyed his life; he was spontaneous and had a gift for trying to (and always succeeding) at making people laugh. There was a joke for every situation and every person he met. The laughter that he created can be found in the thousands of photos with friends and family he was a part of, he was a master at the goofy pose.

Cavan had a passion for driving; whether he was riding his motorcycle, his truck, or his skateboard. Nothing could keep him from it, whether it was a broke down old Harley, or a concussion at the skate park. He'd be back doing burnouts on that old Harley or at the Des Moines Skate Park, challenging his friends to tricks in no time.

Throughout his life, Cavan met and made a vast number of friends. His outgoing personality was contagious, and strangers became buddies in short time. Friends and family were the most important part of Cavan's life. He would drop anything for them and always stuck up for his people when they needed it. He spent hours gaming online with his crew and enjoyed going fishing with his friends and family. Cavan had close relationships with his Grandpa Tim and his Uncle Chewy. Over his life, Cavan's actions and the stories of others made clear what was most important to him; his group of people.

Those left to remember Cavan include his parents, Sara Magnuson and Richard (Em) Magnuson; his brothers, Ayden Magnuson, Zander Magnuson, and Xavier Magnuson; a step-sister, Esther Zukin; his grandparents, Christine Strait and Dick (Pam) Magnuson; his aunts and uncles, Chris (Jill) Karalius, Alyssa Karalius, and Andrea (Grant) Serna; as well as many cousins, extended family members, and the countless friends that Cavan made in his life.

Preceding Cavan in death was his grandfather, Tim Strait; and his uncle, Al "Uncle Chewy" Karalius.
