Obituary

Chad Earl Martinache of Monroe, Iowa passed away on December 18, 2025. Chad was born on February 13, 1974, in Knoxville, IA, to Karen and Donald Martinache. Chad was a man of simplicity, strength, and spirit.

Chad was an avid fisherman and hunter with a passion for wildlife. He cherished the time he spent in the wilderness; the water and woods brought him comfort. His love for nature and the thrill of the chase were part of what made him unique, and he shared this enthusiasm with those around him. Chad also enjoyed playing the guitar for many years, always attempting to learn new music and share this hobby with friends and family. Chad had a keen eye for selecting the perfect dog and having an impeccable ability to train them.

Over the years he worked as a laborer in welding and concrete pouring, always taking pride in the work he did and the craftsmanship he brought to each job.

He is survived by his beloved daughter, Sydnie Martinache (Brett Ellringer), and his two precious grandchildren, Lennon and Landry Ellringer, who brought him immense joy. Others left to honor his memory are his siblings, Jim (Karla) Martinache, Kevin Martinache, Wendy Battles (Doug DeHaai), Kimberly Cook, Cindy Tangeman, and brother-in-law Patrick (Connie) Knowles, along with several nieces and nephews who will miss him dearly.

Chad was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Chester and Jessie Mattice, his paternal grandparents, Hilda Martinache and Earl (Lou) Martinache, parents, Don and Karen Martinache, as well as his siblings, Kelly Knowles and Donnie Martinache, and brother-in-law Ron Tangeman. Though his absence will be deeply felt, his family takes comfort in knowing that he is now at peace.

Those who knew Chad will remember him not just for his rugged sense of adventure and quiet strength, but for his unique approach to life - never afraid to follow his own path. His legacy will live on in the stories we share and the memories we hold dear.

A private family service will be held, with a celebration of life will be held on Saturday, June 13, from 12:00 - 3:00 pm at the Monroe American Legion in MOnroe.  .
