David Daniel McNeer, age 84, passed away on July 22, 2025, in Encinitas, California. Graveside services will be held on Wednesday, September 3, 2025, at 10:00 am at McKeever Cemetery north of Colfax. The family will greet friends after the service at the Howard Street Christian Church in Colfax with a luncheon beginning at 11:00 am. The son of Charles and Agnes (Hughs) McNeer, Dan, "Danny Colfax" was born on January 26, 1941, in Chicago, Illinois. He graduated from Colfax High School in 1960. Following high school, Dan served in the United States Air Force. After his time in the military, he sold insurance before going to Maytag in Newton, where he worked for 29 years before retiring.

Dan was a jack of all trades. Whether it was rebuilding cars or repairing someone's house. He could do it all and showed his nieces and nephews how to do it also. He was always there to help anyone. Dan never married but had two nieces and a nephew that he helped raise.

Dan is survived by his sister, Dolores (McNeer) Linn; his companion, Carolyn Jones; nieces, LaDonna Lester and Renee (Terry) Slifer; nephew, Monte (Tracy) Linn and many great nieces and nephews, great great and great great great nieces and nephews as well as his beautiful dog, Rosie. Preceding him in death were his parents, Charles and Agnes McNeer and a nephew, Garry Lester.
