Deborah Dawn Beckjorden, age 67 of Prairie City, passed away on Friday, November 15, 2024 at Pella Regional Health Center. Graveside memorial services will be held on Tuesday, November 19, 2024 at 11:00 am at Silent City Cemetery in Monroe. The family will greet friends at a luncheon following the service at Grace Alive Church in Prairie City. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the family and checks made out to Frances Miller. The daughter of Donald and Margaret (Lennie) Beckjorden, Debbie was born on January 14, 1957 in Waterloo, Iowa. Known as Nanny to many Debbie was a warm and welcoming woman. Deborah was known to love God, her family, her church, karaoke, feeding wildlife and a strong love for her friends. Deborah grew up in the Waterloo area in her early years. She then moved to Prairie City where she spent her time meeting new people, helping out in the community, specifically the PCM clothing closet. Nanny was known to go out of her way to say hello when she saw you. If you knew Debbie you know she was always looking to make a friend out of everyone. Knowing everyone is coming together to celebrate her life would make Debbie over the moon.

Those left to honor her memory include her children, Frances (Jered) Miller Jeremy (Alicia) Moon; eight grandchildren, Treasure, Hannah, Bella, Bailee, Emily, Levi, Breyten, and Ryker; great grandchildren, Avery and Remington Miller and siblings, Janice Koester, Merritt (wife Laurie) Terrell, Ian (wife Kendra) Beckjorden, and Mike Terrell. Preceding her in death were her parents; a daughter Carla; brothers, Donald and Vincent; Deborah's grandparents, and her many lifetime friends.
