Fani Karfis, age 74 of Pella, passed away on Thursday, December 30, 2021, at Estates of St. Louis Park in Minnesota. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 8, 2022 at 11:00 am at Coburn Funeral Home in Monroe. Visitation will take place also on Saturday, January 8, 2022 from 10:00 am at the funeral home. Burial will be at Ottumwa Cemetery. Condolences may be left for the family at www.coburnfuneralhomes.com The daughter of Vagelis and Matina (Aliberti) Bogiatzi, Fani was born on October 28, 1947, in Athens, Greece. She was united in marriage to Theodore S. Karfis October 16, 1966. She moved to New York in 1972 and then to Iowa in 1978. She helped her husband in running Ted's Pizza. Those left to honor her memory include her children, Debbie and her husband Taki and Steve Karfis; five grandchildren, Gia, Paul, Teddy, Valentino and Alice; and her siblings, Nikolaos, Popi, George, Yiannis, Nektaria, Argiro, Dimitris, and Thanasis.
