Garry Lee Lester, age 60 of Colfax, passed away on Wednesday, December 22, 2021 in Des Moines. Graveside funeral services will be held on Wednesday, December 29, 2021 at 2:00 pm at McKeever Cemetery. An open visitation will be held on Tuesday, From 6:00 - 8:00 pm at Coburn Funeral Home in Colfax. Memorials may be directed to the Colfax Fire and Rescue Association and condolences may be left for the family at www.coburnfuneralhomes.com The son of Rhalee and Peggy (Kloppenborg) Lester, Garry was born on January 1, 1961 in Newton. He graduated from Colfax High School in 1980. On May 28, 1982 he was united in marriage to LaDonna Weldon. Garry worked at the Monroe Table Company from 1980 - 1986. He then went to work at Maytag from 1986 until 2007. He then went to Arcosa/Trinity from 2008 until 2019. Garry was a member of the Colfax Fire Department for many years. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, going to the casinos, cooking and most of all his family. Those left to honor his memory include his wife, Ladonna; children, Christina (Carrie Anderson) Lester and Dustin (Nikki) Lester; grandchildren, Charity, Hailey, and Alexander and a great grandson, Jaxson. Also surviving are two brothers, Don Lester and Dan (Kim) Lester and many nieces and nephews. Preceding him in death were his parents, grandparents and several uncles, aunts and cousins.
