Harriet L. Vande Kieft, age 88 of Prairie City, passed away on Wednesday, November 20, 2019, at The Cottages in Pella. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, November 23, 2019, at 10:30 a.m. at the Prairie City Christian Reformed Church. Burial will take place at Waveland Cemetery. The family will greet friends following the burial at a luncheon at the church. Memorials may be directed to My Brother's Keeper or the Prairie City Christian Reformed Church. Condolences may be left for the family at www.coburnfuneralhomes.com The daughter of Cornelius and Elizabeth (Jansen) DeKoning, Harriet was born on June 23, 1931, in Lynnville, Iowa. On January 31, 1975, she was united in marriage to Arthur Vande Kieft in Prairie City. Harriet was a very active member of the Prairie City Christian Reformed Church. Some of those activities include, Sunday School Teacher, Calvinette Leader, Helping Hand Society and My Brother's Keeper. Harriet also enjoyed crocheting blankets for her grandchildren and great grandchildren and counted cross stitch. Those left to honor her memory include her children, Jerry (Linda) Vande Kieft, Arlene (Mike) Martaus, Donna (Ron) Huisman and Jean (Ron) Steenhoek; 13 grandchildren, 33 great grandchildren, 1 great great granddaughter; two sisters, Bertha Schut and Joan Schut and two sisters-in-law, Margaret Ann DeKoning and Annie B. Vande Kieft. Preceding Harriet in death were her parents, husband, Arthur and three brothers, Albert, Dick and Carroll.
