Helen A. Beard, age 88 of Colfax, passed away on Saturday, November 28, 2015, at Mercy Medical Center in Des Moines. Graveside funeral services will be held on Wednesday, December 2, 2015, at 1:00 p.m. at the Colfax Cemetery. Condolences may be left for the family at www.coburnfuneralhomes.com The daughter of Gail DelRoy and Esther Marie (Kern) Teed, Helen was born on January 2, 1927, in Mingo, Iowa. She was united in marriage to Walter Beard on January 30, 1946. Helen's greatest love was her family. Those left to honor her memory include her children, Loretta Heiden of Altoona, Sharon (Steve) Wells of Newton, Ellen Agan of Altoona and Karne Lloyd of Des Moines; three grandchildren; four great grandchildren; a great great grandson and three sisters, Henrietta, Ruby, and Bonnie. Preceding her in death were her parents, husband and a daughter, Carol Ann Willis.
