Henry "Carroll" Brown, age 85 of Colfax, passed away on Friday, March 31, 2023 at UnityPoint Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, April 5, 2023 at 10:00 am at Heritage Assembly of God in Des Moines. The funeral service will be live streamed on the church's Facebook page. Burial will take place at Lincoln Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, April 4, 2023 at Coburn Funeral Home in Colfax from 5:00 - 7:00 pm.

The son of Henry Carl and Ethel Alverta (Lacey) Brown, Carroll was born on February 19, 1938 in Grimes, Iowa. On April 13, 1957, he was united in marriage to Patricia "Pat" Seghi in Polk County. After graduating from high school, Carroll proudly served in the United States Army and National Guard for 44 years, retiring in 2000 at the age of 62. He retired with the rank of CW4. Following his military service he embarked on his second career as a mail carrier in Colfax.

Those left to honor his memory include his wife, Pat; sons, Curt (Linda) Brown, Tony (Sheila) Brown, and Randy (Catherine) Brown; his daughter, Deb (Charlie) Hainer; 15 grandchildren; 30 great grandchildren; a sister, Darlene Rose; a brother, R. Dwight (Carol Kay) Brown and many other family and friends. Preceding him in death were his parents; two brothers, and a grandson, Jeremiah Brown. Carroll was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandpa, great grandpa and brother.
