Jerry Ray Sellers, age 92 formerly of Monroe, passed away on Friday, July 10, 2026 at the VA Medical Center in Des Moines. Jerry's wishes were to be cremated and a private family service held at Silent City Cemetery in Monroe at a later date. Condolences may be left for the family at www.coburnfuneralhomes.com

The son of Harold and Mabel (Wood) Sellers, Jerry was born on April 10, 1934 in Marion County, Iowa. He graduated from Monroe High School in 1952.. Following high school, he was drafted into the United States Army. On June 25, 1954, he was united in marriage to Mary Ellen Vander Kieft at the Little Brown Church in Nashua. He farmed in the area and drove trucks for a living. Jerry was an avid sports fan and loved to watch sports on tv in his later years. He went so far as to have two tv's set up so he could have multiple games on at the same time. Jerry also enjoyed being outdoors, riding his bike, hunting mushrooms or just walking the trails at Lake Red Rock.

He is survived by his two sons, Chris (Kim Calderwood) Sellers and Greg (Sherry) Sellers; six grandchildren, Gabe Sellers, Samantha Sellers, Vaughn (Danielle Luettel) Irlbeck, Joseph Irlbeck, Cassandra (Kyle Collins) Sellers and Jason Graham; a great grand child, Juniper and nieces and nephews. Preceding him in death were his parents, his wife, Mary Ellen in 1989 and a brother and sister-in-law, Duane and Wilma Sellers.
