The daughter of Carroll and Hazel Ellen (Bailey) Jennings, Linda was born on August 23, 1950, in Des Moines, Iowa. Linda graduated from Bondurant-Farrar High School in 1968. She went to DMACC to be a dental hygienist. On May 28, 1977, she was united in marriage to Calvin Jay Brink at the Santiago Methodist Church. She stayed home to be with her children as they grew up. In 1989, she became a small business owner (Dallas Muffler) managing a group of unruly guys, including her husband. They ran the business for 10 years before selling and she retired. Since then, she has enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren.

Upon finding a 1968 Chevelle, a car she had right after High School, She and her companion Craig and later with her son-in-law Andy restored it. Last year, they went to their first car show and won crowd's choice of which they were extremely proud.

Linda was a fighter. She was diagnosed with MS in 2003. She managed to avoid the ramp and wheelchair that was set up for her and insisted it be removed. But her most challenging fight started in 2014 with her CLL diagnosis. She battled until the very last and cheerfully focused on all that she could do for others the entire time.

Her hobbies included giraffe collecting (see living room photos), impeccably clean home, jewelry collecting including ones she beaded. Antiquing with sisters-in-law and refinishing old wood furniture, she could always find the most expensive or rare, beautiful find in antique or junk stores, that was her superpower!

Those left to honor her memory include her daughters, Kelly (Kelly) Morse, Deanne (Andy) Vespestad, Kimberley (Brian) Burgett, and Kylie Brink; eleven grandchildren, Drew Vespestad, Erin (Brandon) Giancola, Taylor (John Rieck) Hickle, Brooklynn (Hansen) Vermie, Alyssa (Austin Reed) Burgett, Justin Burgett, Brayden Burgett, Jordyn Johnstad, Evan Johnstad, Lillian Hanson and Owen Hanson; and five great grandchildren, Evelyn, Bodie, Blakeley, Hadley and Charley. Preceding her in death were her parents, husband, Cal in 2018 and a son, Michael Brink and her companion, Craig Hougham.
