Marilyn Wicker, age 92 of Prairie City, passed away on Wednesday, November 5, 2025 at Park Centre in Newton. Memorial services will be held on Saturday, November 22,2025 at 2:00 pm at the Prairie City United Methodist Church. Burial will take place at Waveland Cemetery. The daughter of Glenn and Mary (Vance) Barr, Marilyn was born on January 15, 1933, in WInterset, Iowa. On December 7, 1957, she was united in marriage to Melvin P. Wicker.  She worked at Northwestern Bell for 40 years before her retirement.   Marilyn was a longtime member of the Prairie City United Methodist Church where she was active in many activities. She enjoyed gardening and in her retirement worked several local elections.

Those left to honor her memory include her son, Tom (Jeri) Wicker; granddaughters Renee' (Robin) Sol and Sarah (Ben) Sievers; great grandchildren, Jada and Kaia Sol and Thomas, Lucas and Zachary Sievers as well as a niece, Joyce Koehler and a nephew, Dennis Koehler. Preceding her in death were her parents, husband in 2017 and two sisters, Vancine Koehler and Ilene Nunamaker.
