Michael Dean Holdefer, age 69 of Colfax, passed away on Monday, December 15, 2025 at his home surrounded by his family. The family will greet friends on Sunday, December 21,2025, from 3:00 - 5:00 pm at Coburn Funeral Home in Colfax. Burial will take place at McKeever Cemetery in the spring. The son of Howard and Helen (Lewis) Holdefer, Sr., Mike was born on August 2, 1956 in Newton, Iowa along with his twin brother, Ronald. Mike grew up and graduated from Colfax High School. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. He loved to go mushroom hunting and his catfish. Even following a car accident that left him paralyzed, he still found ways to scratch his itch to hunt.

Those left to honor his memory include his brother, Howard Jr.; his sister, Georgia Pierce; nieces and nephews, Tony (Missy) Holdefer, Chris Pierce, Jason (Alesa) Pierce, Danny Pierce, Brandon (Desirae) Pierce, Jeremy Holdefer, Jonathan (Aimee) Holdefer, Brenda (Stacy) Rice, Stacie Holdefer and Craig Holdefer and many great nieces and nephews. Preceding him in death were his parents, twin brother, Ronald; brother, Doug; sister-in-law, Barb Hill, and a brother-in-law, Dwight Pierce.
