Michele Renee Lanphier, of Reasnor, Iowa, passed away on Monday, July 21, 2025, at Knoxville Hospital after a courageous three-year battle with cancer. She faced her illness with remarkable strength and never gave up.

Michele was born on July 21, 1967—exactly 58 years to the day of her passing—in Albia, Iowa, to Dwight and Marcella (Keeton) Cochran. She began her education in Knoxville and moved to Monroe in seventh grade, graduating from Monroe High School in 1985.

On May 25, 1991, Michele was united in marriage to Daniel Lanphier at the Reasnor United Methodist Church. She worked for several years at Kirke-Van Orsdel (KVI) in Des Moines before choosing to stay home during the early years of raising her two children, Monica and Dannon. Once Dannon reached school age, Michele began working at PCM Schools, where she eventually became the high school secretary—a role she cherished. She loved being part of the school community and took great joy in connecting with both students and staff.

Michele's dedication to her community extended beyond the school system. For many years, she also served as the City Clerk of Reasnor, a position she held with pride up until shortly before her passing.

In her free time, Michele enjoyed cheering on Monica and Dannon in their various sporting events, mowing and caring for her yard, scrapbooking, and hosting family gatherings. Her greatest joy, however, was becoming a grandmother and spending time with her beloved grandchildren.

She is survived by her husband, Danny, of Reasnor; her daughter, Monica Price of Reasnor; her son, Dannon (Mackenzie) Lanphier of Monroe; and her grandchildren, MaKenna, Brixton, and Kemper. She is also survived by her sisters, Danielle (Doug) Bailey and Jennifer Elliott, both of Des Moines, along with many extended family members and dear friends.

Michele was preceded in death by her parents and her beloved grandparents, Lawrence "Bud" and Martha Keeton.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, August 23, at The Gathering Place in Monroe, Iowa, from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. Memorials may be directed to the family to be used at a later date.
