Morgan M. Chapman, age 81 of Pleasant Hill, died Thursday, February 19, 2015, at University Park in Des Moines. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, February 24, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at the Runnells Christian Church, with burial following at Lowman Cemetery. Visitation will take place on Tuesday for one hour prior to the service at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Runnells Christian Church or the Alzheimer's Association. Condolences may be left for the family at www.coburnfuneralhomes.com . The son of George Marion and Hazel (Gardner) Chapman, Morgan was born on September 11, 1933, in Sidney, Iowa. On July 20, 1958, he was united in marriage to Vesta Mae Blood at the Runnells Christian Church. Morgan proudly served in the United States Air Force. He worked in the Polk County Treasurers office for many years. Morgan enjoyed traveling and loved horses. He would often be seen at horse races or even horse sales. Those left to honor his memory include his two sons, Doug Chapman of Lincoln, Nebraska and Dennis Chapman of Bondurant; a daughter-in-law, Kelly Wade of Ladora, Iowa, four grandchildren, Jennifer, Jessica, Jonathon and Bill; a sister, Terri Chapman, a sister-in-law, Dorothy Reed of Runnells and nieces and nephews. Preceding him in death were his parents, his wife in 2009; a son, Kevin in 2005 and a brother, John Chapman.
