Sonny James Fife, age 25 of West Des Moines, passed away on Wednesday, April 17, 2024, at Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, April 27, 2024, at 12:00 pm. At Coburn Funeral Home in Monroe. The family will greet friends on Saturday, April 27, 2024, from 10:00 am until 12:00 pm at Coburn Funeral Home in Monroe. In lieu of flowers, any monetary memorials may be directed to the family with checks made out to Tammy Fife, all monetary contributions will be put towards the cost of Sonny's headstone. Sonny was the son of James Fife and Tammy (Knight) Fife, Sonny was born on July 6, 1998 in Des Moines, Iowa. Sonny was a Good Man! As a child he was the shyest, sweetest, happiest, most content little boy, unless we made him come inside. The boy LOVED the outdoors!! Sonny loved exploring. He & His siblings & neighborhood friends adopted the Jordan Creek & named it TROPICO ISLAND. They would explore the creek often & come back covered in MUD & would often bring home little treasures. Many times, he would bring his mama a fresh bouquet of wildflowers & once an armful of awesome weeds, ha-ha! He was such a sweet & thoughtful son who often brought his mama flowers throughout the years. Sonny Loved music, lots of music. As a teen, he started writing & mixing his own. It wasn't long till he was on stage performing his creations. With hard work & dedication he became a Lyrical Genius!!! As he grew into the wonderful, handsome young man we all know today, he loved his family & friends. Sonny's family grew, his closest friends became his other brothers & sisters. He never lost his kind heart, generosity, helpfulness & LOYALTY! Sonny was someone you could count on, for help or a good time, he was a beautiful ray of sunshine and for some, he will always be their sunshine! Sonny LOVED! his family, his friends, his Sassy cat, reading books, writing & performing, helping others, enjoying life's guilty pleasures & going to the renaissance fair with his family every year. He will be missed by so many & Forever Loved, to Infinity & Beyond! Rest in Peace Sonny James AKA our Sonny Bunny AKA SMOE YOUNG till we meet again, keep watching over us down here. Sonny was a GOOD MAN!

Those left to honor his memory include his father, James Fife; mother Tammy Knight-Fife; sister, Victoria Fife (Bridger Thompson); niece Kinsley 6, and nephew Stanley 5mo; brother, Dusty Fife (Grace Waddell) all of Des Moines; grandmother, Vicky Knight of Monroe, IA; 4 Uncles, lots of cousins & their families & of course his Tortellini & his Sassy Cat; as well as lots of friends that Sonny considered his chosen family!.  Sonny was preceded in death  by his grandparents, Carl D knight Jr. of Monroe IA, John and Vicki Fife, of Barstow CA. and 2 older sisters, Courtney and Hannah, and a couple of friends that were also gone too soon.
