Steven J. O'Braza, age 65 of Carlisle, went to the other side on Wednesday, September 27, 2017, at his home. There will be a memorial gathering held on Saturday, September 30, 2017, at 11:00 am at the North Park in Carlisle. Following the service the family would like to invite everyone to stay and enjoy lunch and share stories about Steve. Feel free to bring a covered dish and lawn chair. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the North Park Flower Garden. The son of Joseph Frank and Margaret Delores (Craig) O'Braza, Steve was born on October 29, 1951, in Des Moines. He graduated from Colfax High School in 1969. Steve also served in the United States Air Force during Vietnam. He worked as the Public Works Superintendent for the City of Carlisle since 1979. Steve was an avid fisherman, gardener, and Chicago Cubs Fan. Above all, he loved his family and friends most. Those left to honor his memory include his wife, Sandy; a daughter, Stephanie and Richard Mueggenberg; step daughter, Erin McPherson; Step son Levi Moritz; two grandchildren, Bert McPherson and Avery Mueggenberg and two brothers, Ron and Vickie O'Braza and Mike and Donna O'Braza. Also surviving are several nieces, nephews and his beloved pets, Eubie, Essie and Pablo. Preceding him in death were his parents.
