Verna Mae Nell, age 81 passed away on Sunday, August 21, 2022 at Accura East in Newton. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, August 25, 2022 at 2:00 pm at Coburn Funeral Home in Colfax. The family will greet friends for one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial will take place at Colfax Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to the the family and condolences left for the family at www.coburnfuneralhomes.com The daughter of Herbert and Emily (Fleming) Sliger, Verna was born on December 6, 1940 in Missouri. On April 27, 1959, she was united in marriage to Paul Kenneth Nell in Newton. She enjoyed spending time with her family, playing games, baking, dancing and enjoyed listening to music. Those left to honor her memory include her children, Janet (Tracy) Good), Richard (Heather) Nell, Mary (Rex) Millage, and Karen (Kelly Reis) Bennett; 19 grandchildren, 36 great grandchildren, 3 great great grandchildren. Preceding her in death were her parents, husband in 1997 a daughter, Sandra in 2017 and a son Kenneth in 2021.
