William E. Hill, age 88 of Colfax, passed away on Wednesday, April 2, 2025, at Edencrest at River Woods in Des Moines. Funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, April 8, 2025, at 11:00 am at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Colfax. The family will greet friends following the Mass at a luncheon in the church fellowship hall. The son of Francis B. and Opal L. (Dawson) Hill, Bill was born on March 21, 1937, on the family farm near Colfax. On August 30, 1958, he was united in marriage to Almeta Kintz in Des Moines. Bill worked as a heavy equipment operator during his career, retiring in 2000. He was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. Bill enjoyed motorcycles, family, friends and volunteering.

Those left to honor his memory include his wife of 66 years, Almeta; two daughters, Tammie (Brent) Hasselbrink and Melissa (Bruce Geiger) Hill; two grandsons, Phillip (Rachel) Morris and Adam Morris and two precious great granddaughters, Maggie and Junie. Preceding Bill in death were his parents; mother-in-law, Lillie Kintz; brothers-in-law, Jerry Ingraham and Dean Riggan and a sister-in-law, Billie Riggan.
