Your mother was my teacher at mound prairie #6 (country school). Many good memories she had a dog called Blondie that she would bring to school. Your dad had the Ford dealership in Prairie City, one day your mom came to school with pink and black Thunderbird, she was very proud of this car. She was We would go over to Newton have school picnics. The list just goes on and on. She was a very happy person. LOTS VERY GOOD MERIORES.
So sorry to hear of her passing, our mother's talked on the phone. I heard about that! They always remember Mike and I working in the corn fields with Larry & Cindy Daft. Oh how time gets away from us.

Thoughts and prayers go out to you, Merlin and your family at this time.
Mike and Merlin, so many wonderful memories of your parents. Your mom's dry wit made conversations with her delightful! I will never forget your mother's phone call to me to begin piano lessons with you Mike. I asked how old you were and you were barely in first grade. I was convinced that kids should not take lessons until they could read. No problem, Barb said. I told your mom I would do it on a trial basis and I was not convinced that you would be able to do the lessons. Well, after about 15 years of lessons, you turning into such an accomplished pianist, your mom and I had quite a laugh over how you had begun lessons, with me! In her later years we continued to have wonderful phone conversations from her Newton Village home and we continued to share Christmas cards as well ... a wonderful lady indeed!
Barb was my mother's friend for many years. The last time I saw her was at mom's funeral and it was so sweet of her to come and share our grief.
I so enjoyed Barb during her time at Newton Village. We had many wonderful visits and I loved her sense of humor. Karen Kriz
