Once upon a time, a daughter, Norma Jean (Crozier) Miller, was born to John F. and Elsie E. (Culberston) Crozier. She attended a country school in Grand River and graduated from Garden Grove High School in 1956. She worked at Bankers Life Insurance and was a member of the Junior Farm Bureau where she met the love of her life, Layton Miller Sr., and they were later married on February 17, 1957. To this fairytale, they added 6 children: Bert (Tom) Burns, Tim (Deb) Miller, Layton Jr. (Barb) Miller, Carroll (Lynda) Miller, Merrill (Colette) Miller and Marquita (Jim) Utter.

In the years following, she drove a school bus for 15 years, was a cook in the Mingo school district and worked at American Republic for 10 years. She retired and opened the NJ Florals flower shop, where Layton and she worked together for 12 years. She enjoyed reading, attending her grandchildren's activities and was a 50-year member of the Howard Street Christian Church.

Through their 63-year marriage, their family continued to grow with the addition of 19 grandchildren with 16 spouses, 46 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great granddaughter. Norma is also survived by her sister, Helen (Leon) Hampton, numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and many others that call her Granny. She is preceded in death by her parents and granddaughters, Misty Jo Long and Jennifer Greene.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, February 28, 2020, at 2:00 p.m. at the Howard Street Christian Church. Burial will follow at McKeever Cemetery. Visitation will take place on Thursday, February 27, 2020 from 5:00 - 8:00 p.m. at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Howard Street Christian Church Youth. Norma had a large family she loved, but she always had room for more. Only God knows how many people called her mom, or granny.

Norma was always a friendly smile in the lunch line when I was a little bit in Mingo. Both her and Layton were also our bus route drivers for several formative years. Throughout the following years, as I returned from time to time, she always took an interest in what one of her former students/riders was up to. I always found that fascinating and rare. She was a busy lady but always took time to chat. She will be missed by so many!
