The son of Ernest and Dorothy (Rickabaugh) Ross, Larry was born on February 22, 1936 in Des Moines. He graduated from East High School. Larry worked as a hog buyer for many years, operating out of Colfax and Milan, Missouri. On June 17, 1983, he was united in marriage to Barbara Wade in Prairie CIty. Larry was a people person and worked at different things until about a year ago. He enjoyed fishing, clerking at auctions, watching college basketball and football games, attending the Iowa State Fair, attending First Baptist Church, and going to coffee time with his friends, even though he did not like coffee. Just being around others made him happy.
Those left to honor his memory include his wife, Barbara; his children, Brenda (Larry) McGinnis, Debby (Lance) Maggard, and Todd Ross; step children, Denice Ward and Sheila (John) McCall; 17 grandchildren and 26 great grandchildren. Preceding Larry in death were his parents, a brother, Dennis, step son, Walter and a great grandson.
We will always remember my cousin Larry as a genuine, down-to-earth friend who valued others and his faith in Christ above all else. May the Lord bless Larry's many loved ones with peace, knowing he is now with his Savior.!
Love, Lyle and Connie

Barb and family, Our condolences - you have our prayers and sympathy at this difficult time.
Larry will be greatly missed. He was a special friend to many. Prayers to Barb and the Ross family.
Our prayers are with the Ross family during this difficult time. We give thanks to the Lord for Larry's faith in Jesus and take comfort in knowing he is with His Lord and Savior. God Bless!
Larry was a special person. Being his neighbor for years, we had many talks and laughs. He'd always have you 'pull up a chair's and chat. Also spent many years on the city council with Larry. What an asset to city government. Heck of a guy!
